Hey there, I think you should give the X-small (orange) size a try..since you're having problems with them falling off. my 47 lb dog actually wears the red (small) size and does fine. granted he does have small feet for his size but yours looks like a little guy that might fit a smaller size better..... we haven't had problems with cut off circulation as far as we know.

"(Why would a dog require protection for its feet from snow, or mud, or clay anyway? Your guess is as good as mine.)"

I just saw this as I was googling reviews of this product. Nice review, but I had to clarify for your above quote / question.

My dog is a collie (long paw hair between pads) mixed with lab (webbed toes). The long hair traps snow and forms rock-hard ice balls over and under his webbing, which then leads to tearing and bleeding. He tries to bite them out and then they become even more solid ice and his hair tears out. The same happens with mud. I've had mud form clumps I thought were rocks. The poor guy was frantic, trying to rip them out and hobbling and whimpering.

This is also common in golden retrievers, who also have webs and long fur, and in other hairy breeds, even those without webs. Clipping fur does nothing much to help, for some reason, either.

So, little balloon feet it may be!

Not sure if anyone has heard of Muttluks but they are wonderful! You can get either the 'all weather' or fleece lined for winter. They do not fall off (unless you don't tighten the velcro enough). The only downfall I've found is price but they really are sooo worth it! Made in Canada too!

Mike: They come in a bunch of sizes, but as to which size is best for your dog, it's a bit of a challenge to decide.

Out az. way, 100 degree weather causes the paved roadways to become screechingly hot. Those boots?
would come in handy in the lower climes of az.
I wonder, what sizes do they come on?

Show Billie these photos and she will forever be proud to trot around in boots. Real dogs wear boots!

Sean, you are very lucky Billie ended up liking those boots. That look of forlorn disappointment she gave you for subjecting her to such humiliation said it all.

Not living in a country where snow and ice is a problem I never knew or considered it would be such a problem for dogs. Although scorching hot footpaths and tarmac is a problem here I'm not sure rubber boots would be of much use!
